Presentation Fundamentals - Powerpoint

PowerPoint slides are used in many presentations today. Here are some ppt fundamentals to consider when you are creating your slides:-

The PowerPoint slides support the presentation not the other way around. Keep them relevant to your presentation.

Keep the PowerPoint slides uncluttered. Don't put too much on each slide or it will lose its impact.

Keep text to a minimum. It becomes difficult to read and the audience can read quicker than you can speak.

Don't read your presentation from the slides because the audience may get bored

The novelty of animations have worn off, so use them sparingly in your presentation

Plan out the presentation slides and their sequence before starting to create them

Getting the presentation fundamentals right will go a long way to giving an effective presentation. The ppt slides need to support the overall presentation and be easy to follow by the audience.
